Hi, I'm Rachel!
Welcome, and thanks for visiting!
Here are a few facts about me!
I'm almost 35 years old, and I'm living in the Bluegrass state.
I’m an Executive Administrative Assistant and Scholarship Program Coordinator, and soon to be a mentor to a cohort of 15 1st year or sophomore college students. I am very much looking forward to encouraging, inspiring, and providing guidance to my mentees and I am so thankful to have this opportunity.
Formally, I was a Catering Assistant- for years. Between that experience and my personal life, I have learned quite a bit about edible aesthetics, event planning, and food.
If I had to describe my personality in a few words, I would say I am:

I’ve been married for 7 years and counting!
Many people have asked us how we manage to be friends outside of the home- eating lunch together on our breaks as often as possible, going exploring, laughing, and having fun regularly-
I say it’s easy when you’re really friends!
We have a blended family!
Between the two of us, we have 5 fantastic kiddos ranging from age 6 to 15.
I love a good story.
Although I do read some non-fiction books, I really love fictional stories. I absolutely love mysteries, fantasy, and sci-fi, and lately, I have been enjoying some romance.

I love to creatively cook and bake
Above is a picture of a cake I made for one of my sister's baby showers.
I have made a lot of cakes through the years and although it sometimes makes me crazy- being up in the middle of the night obsessed with perfection- I actually enjoy it.
Finding my voice
I have come to Medium to use my voice and make some noise. I plan to use Medium as a tool for creativity and expression, and as a means to hopefully inspire somebody.
Although writing is presently a hobby for me, I do dream of writing professionally one day.
